Established on 09.15.2017 by Ruth Mandsager Peterson '55  †

Ruth Mandsager Peterson ’55 attended Concordia and graduated with a degree in sociology and psychology.  Following graduation, she accepted a parish staff position in Casper, Wyoming, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.  There she met and married her husband, a 1949 graduate of Saint Olaf College, Clarence M. Peterson. They moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where they raised two children, Eric and Sonja. The remainder of their years were spent in the Denver, Colorado area. 

The Ruth Mandsager Peterson ’55 Endowed Scholarship is awarded by the Office of Financial Aid to one or more students of any class or major, with first preference given to first-generation students, as defined by the Office of Financial Aid.
