Darlene Martinson Ross grew up on a farm near Norcross, MN, the oldest of four daughters to Albert and Eunice Martinson. A 1960 graduate of Concordia, Darlene learned the importance of hard work and dedication at a young age. Her parents modeled for Darlene, and her sisters, lives of generosity and an incredible work ethic. That work ethic, coupled with her love of learning and the mentorship of beloved faculty and staff like Prausnitz, Svendsbye, and Dale helped her complete her studies at Concordia in just two years. She went on to serve as an elementary teacher in Morris, MN for 38 years. It was during that time that she took a sabbatical and traveled with a Concordia May Seminar which followed the footsteps of Apostle Paul, a life-changing experience.
Born out of appreciation for her sabbatical experience, a passion for teaching, and a loving concern for the teachers of today and tomorrow, Darlene creates this fund to support faculty development at Concordia College.
