Alex Bozmoski to Present Climate Change Talk
Alex Bozmoski, director of strategy and operations at RepublicEn, will give a public talk titled "Conservatives Tackling Climate Change." The event will take place at 7 p.m. April 11 in Barry Auditorium, Grant Center at Concordia College.
Bozmoski received his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and holds a master’s degree from the University of Oxford. Before joining RepublicEn, he worked for four years developing rural energy projects in East Africa. He also consulted on energy and climate policy for think tanks, consultancies, and a major development bank. He worked on federal and gubernatorial campaigns for GOP candidates and has experience teaching and designing e-courses on energy policy and environmental economics for developing-country officials and practitioners.
RepublicEn formed in 2012 and provides a community for conservatives dedicated to forwarding free-enterprise solutions to climate change. The organization's members are leaders in the ecoRight movement, and they work to show lawmakers that conservative constituents are concerned and care about the climate.
Liam Nuhring '17 and Dr. Kenneth Foster (political science) organized Bozmoski’s talk, which will be followed by a panel discussion involving Bozmoski and a number of conservative and liberal student leaders. This climate conversation is held in conjunction with Concordia's official signing of the Integrated Climate Commitment.
