CONCORDIA CULTURAL EVENTS PRESENTS APOLLO CHAMBER PLAYERS

The Apollo Chamber Players will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music. Concordia’s own Sonja Harasim, assistant professor of violin and viola, will perform with the ensemble.

The Houston-based Apollo Chamber Players has “found fruitful territory” (Houston Chronicle) through its mission to explore the cultural and folkloric influences in classical music. Apollo presents thematically programmed concerts regionally and nationally including two recent tours of the East Coast. The ensemble’s debut album earned Album of the Week honors by WQXR in New York City. Passionate about arts education, the ensemble curates culturally enriching programs for performance through Young Audiences of Houston and has performed concerts and presented master classes for schools and festivals across the country.

The performance will include the Minnesota premiere of a new composition by Minnesota composer Libby Larsen.

Tickets for the performance are $20 for adult general admission and $10 for students under 18. For tickets, visit ConcordiaTickets.com or call the Office of Cultural Events at (218) 299-4366.
