Art Exhibition Displays Work from Area High Schoolers

CONCORDIA ART EXHIBITION DISPLAYS WORK FROM AREA HIGH SCHOOLERS

Concordia College’s “High School Art Show” is currently on display through Thursday, Jan. 13, in the Cyrus M. Running Gallery. A public reception will take place from 5-6:30 p.m. with artist remarks at 5:30 p.m. the last day of the exhibit, Jan. 13.

This juried art exhibition showcases the diversity and creativity of student designers and artists from North Dakota and Minnesota high schools.

Juror Nancy Leier, taught high school art in Williston and Fargo, N.D., for 26 years and as an adjunct in 3-D Foundation Design at Moorhead State University (now Minnesota State University Moorhead). Currently semi-retired, she continues to work as an art therapy tutor and teaches workshops. She makes paintings, prints, and pottery working with a variety of subject matter. Leier earned a BFA in painting and a teaching certificate in art education from the University of North Dakota and a Master of Art in painting and sculpture from Moorhead State University.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. 

The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. For more information call the art department at 218.299.4623. Concordia requires masks for all indoor events if social distancing cannot be maintained.
