CONCORDIA CULTURAL EVENTS PRESENTS
BILL BOWERS MIME ARTIST

Concordia’s Cultural Events will present a performance by mime artist Bill Bowers at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, on the main stage in Frances Frazier Comstock Theatre.

Bowers’ performance, “Beyond Words,” reflects the stories he has collected from his life and others about what boys learn on their way to becoming men sparked in part by his finding the poem “What is a Boy” in his mother’s things after her death a few years ago.

The opportunity to make the ancient art form of mime accessible to a contemporary audience drives Bowers’ professional artistry. A mime who also talks, Bowers deftly intersperses narrative with stunning visual portraits. He marries classical aspects with contemporary sound effects and music, poses present-day considerations through physical tapestries and invites a wholly transformative look at the humor, pain and beauty of our humanity through simplicity and grace.

Tickets for the performance are $20 for adult general admission and $10 for students under 18. For tickets, visit ConcordiaTickets.com or call the Office of Cultural Events at (218) 299-4366.
