CONCORDIA ART EXHIBITION – PUBLIC RECEPTION

Concordia College’s art exhibition “re | process” is currently on display through Thursday, Oct. 7, in the Cyrus M. Running Gallery. A public reception will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, in the gallery with artist remarks at 4:30 p.m.

Julie Weber is a visual artist working conceptually within the framework of photography. In her current work, Weber employs exhausted spools of thin, transparent polyester coated with heat-sensitive cyan, magenta, and yellow dyes. “re | process” is the result of revisiting, repurposing, and reimaging this archive of material byproduct through an oscillation of digital and analogue photographic modalities.

Weber is an artist and educator based in Chicago, Ill. She received a B.A. from Dominican University (2006) and earned her MFA in photography from Columbia College Chicago (2014). Weber has taught at Dominican University, Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Northern Illinois University, and currently teaches at Waubonsee Community College.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday.

The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. For more information call the art department at 218.299.4623. Concordia requires masks for all indoor events if social distancing cannot be maintained.
