Concordia Language Villages Names Maus Kosir Executive Director

CONCORDIA LANGUAGE VILLAGES NAMES MAUS KOSIR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Concordia Language Villages, a program of Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., has selected Mary Maus Kosir as its incoming executive director. Maus Kosir is currently a marketing and sales executive at Log House Foods. Previously she was the founder and CEO of WholeMe, LLC and spent more than 20 years at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management as both director of international programs and assistant dean of the undergraduate program. Maus Kosir will oversee all areas of the Language Villages which includes enrollment, donors and alumni. 

“Concordia College is delighted to welcome Mary Maus Kosir as executive director of Concordia Language Villages,” says William J. Craft, president of Concordia College. “She brings to that role an informed passion for global learning, long-term success in university leadership, and an entrepreneurial mindset that match this moment and the mission of the Villages.” 

Maus Kosir is originally from Bemidji, Minn., home to Concordia Language Villages’ residential site. Her extensive experience in higher education, along with her entrepreneurial and business background, will be key to the continued advancement of the Language Villages as the premier language and cultural learning organization in the United States.

“I’m thrilled to help Concordia Language Villages deliver on its mission of inspiring courageous global citzens, at the nexus of where culture and language come alive,” says Maus Kosir. “The rich history, along with the passion and diversity of the people engaged with the Villages over the decades, has created a strong foundation that I’m honored to help sustain and grow.”

Maus Kosir holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and German from the College of Saint Benedict and a Master of Arts degree in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota.  She was also the recipient of a Fulbright in Austria and Bosch Fellow in Germany. She will assume the executive director role in October 2020.

Every year, Concordia Language Villages engages more than 10,000 youth, educators and adults from across the United States in language and cultural learning.
