Concordia Launches Graduate Program to Meet High Demand for Data-Driven Business Professionals

The first graduate program from the Offutt School of Business will equip professionals with critical decision-making skills

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Business students and professionals looking to advance their careers will soon be able to take advantage of a new Master of Science program at Concordia College. Management Science & Quantitative Methods (MSQM) is an online, two-year program and is the first advanced degree offered by the Offutt School of Business (OSB).

MSQM will provide professionals across industries and career levels with the skillsets needed to make strategic, data-driven decisions within their organizations. Throughout the program, students will explore analytical methods and tools to understand, interpret, and apply data to complex, real-world problems, while honing leadership skills critical in today’s global business environment.

“To understand today's business world, you need to understand data," says Chris Mason, dean of the OSB. "Our graduates will be equipped with the tools to tackle a variety of business challenges and make informed decisions to lead their organizations to success.”

The program will help meet a growing demand for data analysts. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of analyst job openings is expected to grow by 23 percent by 2031, much faster than the projected five percent average growth for all occupations.

MSQM is designed for general/operations managers and supervisors, financial managers, project managers, marketing managers, human resource managers, financial analysts, business intelligence analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business owners.

As an online program, MSQM is ideal for busy, working professionals with a course schedule accommodating a work, life, and academic balance.

“This program has an innovative design where students can choose courses that complement and advance their professional knowledge,” says Dr. Marcia Santiago Scarpin, program director for MSQM.

Applications for MSQM are now open with the first course beginning in mid-July. Learn more at ConcordiaContinuingStudies.com/MSQM.
