CONCORDIA COLLEGE PARTNERS WITH CMT

The CMT Association is proud to announce its new partnership with Concordia College, Offutt School of Business through Concordia’s inclusion in the CMT Association’s Academic Partner Program.

Selection for the CMT Association’s Academic Partner Program signifies a strong commitment to students’ career readiness and applied learning. Institutions in the Academic Partner Program demonstrate academic rigor in financial courses ranging from quantitative methodologies to behavioral finance, as well as portfolio management and other key aspects of technical analysis.

With this partnership, the two institutions illustrate an innovative solution to the growing demand for student education and career preparedness, while advocating for the advancement of technical analysis in India. Technical analysis, which is a crucial part of investment and trading decisions, has evolved over hundreds of years. While modern technical analysis retains its roots in classical observations of market behavior, it extends beyond pattern recognition to employ groundbreaking quantitative methodologies and rules-based trading-system design and testing.

“Acceptance into the CMT Association’s Academic Partner Program provides our students an advantage by graduating with a significant market designation that normally would not be attained until post-graduation,” says Chris Mason, interim director of the Offutt School of Business and associate professor of finance. “This designation is the ultimate confirmation that the Offutt School of Business curriculum applies to our student’s careers before they get to their career.”

“Technical analysis was one of the first finance classes that I took at Concordia. It was not only an interesting and different way of looking at investing, but it made me excited to learn more about finance,” says Tanner Okeson ’20. “Concordia getting accepted into this program is exciting and it will provide great exposure for future students.”
