CONCORDIA SHOWCASES HIGH SCHOOL ART

Moorhead, Minn. -- Concordia College will host a reception for the “High School Art Show” exhibition Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Cyrus M. Running Gallery. There will be juror remarks at 5:30 p.m. in the gallery.

This juried art exhibition showcases the diversity and creativity of student designers and artists from North Dakota and Minnesota high schools.

This year’s juror, Shelli Fenske, is a native North Dakotan who has always had a love for art. Even though she didn’t have the opportunity to take art courses, she chose to follow her passion, earning a degree in art education from Valley City State University. She then taught middle and high school art for Dilworth, Glyndon, Felton Public Schools. Fenske offered courses in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, photography (film-based and digital), and an advanced placement course in 2D design. After retiring in 2020, she joined Gallery 4 in Fargo as a premier artist. In 2021, she became a board member for the Fargo Moorhead Visual Arts organization.

The exhibit is open and runs through Jan. 17. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday.

The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. For more information call the art department at 218.299.4623.
