CONCORDIA CULTURAL EVENTS PRESENTS TRANSCONTINENTAL SAXOPHONE QUARTET
The Transcontinental Saxophone Quartet will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 10, in the Centrum, Knutson Campus Center, Concordia College.
The Transcontinental Saxophone Quartet is a virtuosic group that has played hundreds of concerts throughout Europe and the United States. The quartet offers novel and original sound possibilities with works which combine elements from classical, jazz, rock, traditional and ethnic music. Dedicated to promoting and developing the saxophone repertoire, the TSQ collaborates closely with Greek, Cypriot, Italian and American composers, through commission and performing new works for the medium. The ensemble features Russell Peterson (USA) – soprano saxophone, Marco Albonetti (Italy) – alto saxophone, Carrie Koffman (USA) – tenor saxophone, and Yiannis Miralis (Cyprus) – baritone saxophone.
