CONCORDIA CULTURAL EVENTS PRESENTS
LADAMA
Concordia’s Cultural Events will present a performance by Latin alternative band, LADAMA, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the Centrum, Knutson Campus Center.
Four female musicians and activists make up LADAMA – each member from a different country and culture of the Americas, who are sisters in song, rhythm and spirit. Harnessing music from their respective countries of origin – Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and the U.S., the group utilizes traditional and nontraditional instruments from across the Americas, but with a modern twist, to produce Latin Alternative music. LADAMA also holds educational workshops in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, providing a foundation for participants to “use music as a basic form of personal expression to address issues pertinent to them.”
