OPENS ACADEMIC YEAR

The Cyrus M. Running gallery’s opening art exhibition for the academic year is “Martin Luther: The Man Behind the Door.” The exhibit opens Sunday, Aug. 27, and runs through Friday, Oct. 20. A public reception will be from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, in the gallery. Dr. Roy Hammerling will speak at 4:30 p.m. the same day in Frances Frazier Comstock Theatre.

The exhibition is in conjunction with this year’s Faith, Reason, and World Affairs Symposium that will explore the one of the major turning points in Western history, “Reformation: Transforming the World One Door at a Time.”

The gallery will present a historical exhibition about Martin Luther and the spread of Lutheranism. This exhibition is curated by Heritage and Museum Studies major, Katelyn Mitchell.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. For more information call the art department at (218) 299-4623.
