CONCORDIA CELEBRATES MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY
Concordia College will hold a day of events celebrating the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 16. The schedule of events:
- 8-8:30 a.m. – Morning Energizer: Yoga with Dr. Erika Strandjord (Morrie Jones A/B, Knutson Campus Center)
- 9:50-10:20 a.m. – MLK Day Chapel featuring Molly Aga, Grace Hoffa, Anita Ukpokolo and music from The Concordia Choir (Centrum, Knutson Campus Center)
- 10:30-11:30 a.m. – Opening Plenary Session: Dr. David Creech “Clear and Present Danger: Threats to Justice Everywhere Inside the Concordia Bubble” (Centrum, Knutson Campus Center)
- 1:20-2:30 p.m. – Concurrent Sessions (various locations)
- 2:40-3:50 p.m. – Concurrent Sessions (various locations)
- 7:30-9 p.m.– Keynote Address: Shaun King, “Addressing the New Civil Rights Movement” (Centrum, Knutson Campus Center)
Throughout the day, students will be conducting “Hours Against Hate” in the atrium, Knutson Campus Center. Visitors can stop by to help out with various service projects throughout the day and donate time to counteract hatred in the world.
