CONCORDIA MUSIC ENSEMBLE CONCERTS IN JANUARY/FEBRUARY

The Department of Music at Concordia will present eight ensemble concerts the end of January and February:

• High School Choral Festival Concert – 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, Memorial Auditorium The concert concludes the Weekend festival of exceptional singers from across six states.

• Orchestra Senior Honors Concert – 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, Centrum, Knutson Campus Center

• Concordia Opera Performance – 3:30 p.m., Centrum, Knutson Campus Center “Rosina Remembered” features selections from Rossini's “The Barber of Seville” and Mozart's “The Marriage of Figaro” – some of the most beautiful and beloved music ever written. Concordia students take leading roles singing this story reminiscing about the Almaviva family before Countess Almaviva ran off to Paris with the pageboy, Cherubino.

• Vocal Jazz Festival with New York Voices – 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Feb. 8, Hvidsten Hall of Music; the festival will feature performances from Concordia’s vocal jazz groups and high schools from across the region with the world-renowned New York Voices serving as guest clinicians.

• The Concordia Band Home Concert – 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, Memorial Auditorium

• Admission Scholarship Concert – 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, Memorial Auditorium

• Symphonic Band Concert – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, Centrum, Knutson Campus Center

• Kantorei and Cantabile Winter Concert – 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, Centrum, Knutson Campus Center

All above concerts are free and open to the public. All performances, clinics, and workshops for the Vocal Jazz Festival are also free and open to the public. The New York Voices ensemble performs Feb. 7 in Memorial; for tickets visit ConcordiaTickets.com.
