OEN FELLOWSHIP LECTURE AT CONCORDIA

Concordia College will present the Oen Fellowship Lecture featuring Dr. Ernst Conradie, professor of Theology at University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, South Africa. Conradie’s lecture, “Whose Anthropocene – Which Diagnosis,” will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the Centrum, Knutson Campus Center.

Conradie is an internationally renowned scholar in the area of Theology, Ethics and Ecology. He has published widely, also for non-specialized audiences, and will bring an African perspective to discussions on religion and sustainability to Concordia’s campus. Anthropocene defines Earth's most recent geologic time period as being human-influenced, or anthropogenic, and overwhelming global evidence is that earth system processes are now altered by humans.

The lecture is supported by the Oen Fellowship Scholar Fund established by Ordean ’49 and Carol Oen. The fellowship provides the college and its community an opportunity to hear an interdisciplinary lecture.

The lecture, organized by the religion department, is free and open to the public.
