CONCORDIA STUDENTS EARN FRENCH AWARDS

Senior Daniel Weisbrod III received the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) Outstanding Senior in French Award. Senior Hannah Jahner received the AATF Excellence in French Award.

Weisbrod’s award is made annually to a graduating senior who has demonstrated excellence in the study of French as well as exceptional commitment to the French language and the many cultures where it is spoken. Weisbrod’s parents are Daniel and Pamela Weisbrod, Stillwater, Minn.

Jahner’s award is given to a student who has demonstrated excellence in the study of French as well as exceptional commitment to the French language and the many cultures where it is spoken. Jahner’s parents are Tim and Carol Jahner, Fargo, N.D.

Weisbrod and Jahner have studied French for at least three years, studied abroad, participated in National French Week and are French Club Officers. Both are students of Dr. Gay Rawson, chair/professor of French in World Languages and Cultures.

The AATF was founded in 1927 and has as its mission the promotion of the study of French language and French-speaking literatures and cultures at all levels. It recognizes the achievements of outstanding students and their teachers. The awards are given in hopes the students will continue the study of French through a career in teaching or another complemenatry profession.
