 SYMPOSIUM TO EXPLORE REFORMATION

Join the Concordia community as we discuss “Reformation: Transforming the World One Door at a Time” at this year’s Faith, Reason and World Affairs Symposium Tuesday, Sept. 19-Wednesday, Sept. 20. Most events are held in Memorial Auditorium on the Moorhead, Minn., campus.

The Protestant Reformation was one of the major turning points in Western history and encompassed not only the relationship of faith and reason in religion but also impacted many other dimensions of society including economic, political, social and educational. As we observe the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, we will take some time to examine the lessons learned from history while debating how best to reform our current world.

Speakers include The Rev. Elizabeth A. Eaton, presiding Bishop of the ELCA; Dr. Cynthia Moe Lobeda, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, Berkeley; Jim Ziolkowski, author and founder, president and CEO of buildOn; The Rev. Dr. Moses Pau Peter Penumaka, director of Theological Education for Emerging Ministries, California Lutheran University; and The Rev. Dr. Surekha Nelavala, Global Peace Lutheran Fellowship.

All sessions for the symposium, now in its 31st year, are free and open to the public. For a complete schedule visit ConcordiaCollege.edu/symposium.

Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering more than 50 majors, including 15 honors majors and 12 preprofessional programs.
