CONCORDIA CULTURAL EVENTS PRESENTS
THE ROSE ENSEMBLE AND PIFFARO
The Rose Ensemble and Piffaro will perform “The Musical Legacy of the Reformation” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in the Centrum, Knutson Campus Center, Concordia College.
A monk named Martin Luther set in motion a spiritual movement 500 years ago that would transform church music. In this exciting collaboration with Piffaro, one of
the world’s finest consort of Renaissance wind instruments, the ensembles present
works by first-generation Reformation composers as well as a groundbreaking
reconstruction of a 1616 royal baptismal mass. This historic concert features the strength of 20 musicians on stage and the opportunity to join in singing the iconic hymn “Ein feste burg” (A Mighty Fortress).
Major funding for this concert has been provided by the Otto Bremer Trust.
