Major in Biosciences (Pharmacy concentration)
Concordia’s biosciences major provides a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and physics, preparing students for a variety of careers in the health sciences. The pharmacy concentration serves as an excellent preparation for admission to pharmacy schools across various institutions or graduate programs of related disciplines. While this major supports students pursuing a pharmacy degree, it is also a flexible and rigorous pathway for those interested in other health professions or life science careers.
Degree Requirements and Courses
Accelerated Dual-Degree Pharmacy Programs
Students majoring in biosciences with a pharmacy concentration now have the option to pursue a dual-degree program with North Dakota State University (3+4) or the Medical College of Wisconsin (3+3). Students will complete foundational coursework at Concordia that will provide the necessary requirements to transition to the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at the partner institution.

Streamlined Path
With the accelerated dual-degree pharmacy program, students will earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in biosciences with a pharmacy concentration from Concordia and a PharmD degree from NDSU or MCW in seven years or less rather than the traditional eight.
Access to Experts in the Field
The biosciences major links students directly with professionals who are doing amazing things. With a curriculum that accesses the expertise of two institutions in the Fargo-Moorhead area, students have access to even more connections and mentors.
Engage Outside the Classroom
Enjoy your coursework and engage in Concordia’s wealth of extracurricular activities. Cobbers in the sciences participate in everything from sports to music ensembles.
