Nov. 15: COVID Message
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
We have important updates and information regarding vaccination requirements and opportunities.
Employee Vaccination Requirement
Earlier this month the Biden Administration finalized a COVID vaccine requirement for organizations with at least 100 employees, which includes Concordia. Under the rule, employees who interact with customers or coworkers and are not fully vaccinated will be required to undergo weekly testing and wear a face mask. Pending appeals, the requirement takes effect January 4, 2022.
As of our last report on September 1, 91% of Concordia employees are already vaccinated. Communication detailing plans to support compliance will be forthcoming.
Student Vaccination Requirement
As a reminder, all current students must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption to continue Spring semester enrollment. The deadline to submit vaccination information or have an exemption request approved is December 14, 2021. Contact COVID19Helpline@cord.edu with any questions.
Currently, 92% of students are fully vaccinated.
Booster Shots
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is recommending booster shots for students and employees of higher education institutions due to the higher risk of exposure. Check with your healthcare provider, pharmacy, or www.vaccines.gov for an appointment.
- Clay County Public Health is having a vaccine and booster shot clinic for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson shots Thursday, Nov. 18.

MDH is inviting interested employees and students to attend a vaccine informational session on November 23. There are two virtual sessions:

As our region continues to experience high transmission and hospitalization rates, we strongly urge you to remain vigilant with COVID mitigation efforts. Continue to mask and social distance when you are off campus.
