At least four of the elected members must be pastors of the ELCA, of whom at least one shall be a bishop of a synod within the Corporate Territory of the College. In addition, at least three elected members shall be alumni of the college.

Each of the voting members of the Board of Regents is elected by the Corporation Assembly for a term of four years and subsequently may be re-elected for two additional full consecutive terms.
