Major in Social Studies Education
This interdisciplinary major prepares students to be recommended by the education department for Minnesota licensure to teach social studies in grades 5-12. To be eligible to complete this major, students must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program.
The social studies interdisciplinary teacher education program is overseen by a committee of faculty representing each of the departments involved in the major. These departments include the Offutt School of Business, education, global studies, history, political science, psychology, and sociology.
