Dr. Jane E. Indergaard, DNP, RN

Associate Professor Nursing

Dr. Jane Indergaard is an associate professor of nursing at Concordia College, in Moorhead, MN,  a licensed registered nurse in ND and MN. She teaches theory and clinical in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, Advanced Adult Health Critical Care Nursing, Nursing Research & Evidence-based Practice, and Fundamentals of Nursing. She has been involved in global health initiatives and development for advancing nursing practice, nursing education, and behavioral health care outreach for programs in Africa and China andco-leader for undergraduate interdisciplinary exploration of behavioral health service research and delivery, in the United Kingdom. Her current research and clinical interests focus on the design, application, and implementation of Psychoeducational (PE) programming provider treatment for ADHD.

Dr. Indergaard is a long-standing provider of education, advocacy,  outreach for individuals living with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). She is the local co-founder of the award-winning Red River Valley CHADD, an affiliate of the national organization Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She is a frequent regional speaker on ADHD and part of a nationally touring expert panel presenting on the underdiagnosis of ADHD in women. In addition to the development and delivery of multiple psychoeducational program series on ADHD for parents, teachers,  adults living with ADHD, she serves as a certified CHADD Parent to Parent teacher and teacher trainer. She is a proud graduate of the inaugural Chris Ziegler Dendy Executive Function Training Camp and a  of the national network of Dendy-trained ADHD advocates.

Dr. Indergaard has presented and provided training at the International Conference on ADHD, the Southeast Regional (University of Alabama) and ADDA Houston ADHD conferences, and the Annual International Conference for the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA). Her most recent work, The Impact of ADHD on Non-affected Siblings, garnered attention. Following a presentation at the January LDA International Conference in New Orleans, she was invited to present at several conferences and speaker series across the country and most recently asked to join 34 leading experts in ADHD for the 7th Annual ADHD Parent’s Palooza online in July 2022. She presented at the 3rd Southern African Multidisciplinary ADHD Congress in September 2022.

Coordinator, Red River Valley Satellite of CHADD (2009-present)
(Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder). Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the satellite (local affiliate) to include development, instruction, and facilitation for Educational Support Classes; Discussion Support Groups for Families/Caregivers, Adults with ADHD, Fathers of Children with ADHD, and College Students with ADHD; Public Workshops and Seminars; Private In-Service Classes, Primary and Secondary Educational Consultation. Responsible for development, marketing, notification, programming, communication, outreach, advocacy, and teaching. Development of instructional materials and presentations on a variety of aspects of the science, treatment, and management of the challenges of ADHD. Education, Networking, Outreach, and Marketing to target groups — Providers, Educators, Educational Administrators, Adults with ADHD, Caregivers of Children with ADHD.
