Gunnar Seedborg joined the Cobber softball coaching staff in the winter of 2025.
He brings a vast knowledge and experience of softball to his role as assistant coach. Before coming to Concordia, Gunnar was an assistant coach at Long Beach City College for six seasons.
Gunnar was the pitching and outfield coach for the Vikings and helped the team post a 32-12 record in 2024, where LBCC advanced to the Super Regionals. During his tenure at Long Beach, the Vikings posted six consecutive seasons with a winning record and accumulated an overall record of 139-83-1.
Prior to his time at Long Beach, Gunnar served as an assistant coach at Whittier College (Calif.).
Gunnar was a standout baseball player during his youth and college career. In high school, he helped lead Artesia High School to the California State Championship game, which was held at the cathedral of baseball — Dodger Stadium. He attended Cerritos College, where he pitched for the Falcons for a year and a half until he decided to pitch for a semi-professional league in Canada. He played in Canada for five seasons and was named the MVP of the league on three occasions, and helped his team win the Canadian league title three times.
Gunnar is married to his very patient wife, Tammie.
