Melissa L. Miranda, CPA, is an adjunct instructor at Concordia College and the founder and owner of Step By Step Accounting, an accounting and advisory firm serving business owners across North Dakota, Minnesota, and throughout the United States.
She is a Certified Public Accountant and a three-time Top 100 QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Her firm has also been recognized as a Woodard Top 50 Accounting Services Practice, and she was named one of Prairie Business Magazine’s Top 25 Women in Business in 2024.
At Concordia, Melissa teaches tax accounting courses and brings her experience as a practicing CPA and business owner directly into the classroom. Beyond the classroom, she is a regional and national speaker and educator on topics including accounting, entrepreneurship, women in business, business ownership, and entrepreneurial mental health. She regularly leads workshops and trainings designed to make financial concepts more approachable and actionable. Her work is rooted in the belief that strong businesses can create stronger families and communities.
Melissa is also a wife and a mother of three boys. Outside of work and teaching, she enjoys singing in her church choir, spending time with her family, and traveling to Brazil to visit family.
