Tim Peterson

Adjunct Instructor Business (Offutt School of Business – Academics)

I am an adjunct instructor in the Offutt School of Business at Concordia College. I teach undergraduate classes in the durable competencies needed by all people to be good organizational citizens. I also teach graduate students the essentials of managerial leadership.

I am a professor emeritus of management at North Dakota State University and earned my doctorate from Texas A&M University in 1988. I have been on the faculty at the University of Tulsa, Texas A&M University, Oklahoma State University, and North Dakota State University. 

I am a Certified Strengths Educator and Clifton Strengths Coach. My research interests are leadership, work-life competencies, the scholarship of teaching, and the application of information technology to organizational issues. I have published in the Academy of Management Education and Learning, Academy of Management Executive, Journal of Leadership Studies, Journal of Management Education, Journal of Leadership Education, and Journal of Management Systems. I am currently on the review board for the Journal of Management Education, Management Teaching Review, and Organization Management Journal.

The love of my life is Dr. Claudette Peterson. We have one daughter, Zoey Peterson, who is the director of digital holding for the Vancouver Public Library. I am currently executive director of the West Fargo Area Education Foundation. Before starting my academic career, I served for 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 1991.
