Established on 03.26.2018 by Douglas E. Aden '70 and Lorraine L. Jensen  †

Douglas had a successful career for 34 years with U.S. Bancorp and its predecessor entity, First Bank System, Inc., working in Billings, Montana, Denver, Colorado, and Grand Junction, Colorado. Lorraine taught fifth grade in Billings for twenty years and later worked at a child advocacy center in Grand Junction that provided services to child victims of sexual abuse and their families. They were lifelong active members of the Lutheran church and, in retirement, volunteered with nonprofit organizations that provided shelter and housing for low income and homeless people.

The Douglas E. Aden ’70 and Lorraine L. Jensen Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually by the Office of Financial Aid to one or more students. The scholarship is awarded to a first-year incoming student and renewed for up to three additional years. Selection is based on students who demonstrate significant financial need. The selected students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by Concordia College.
