Established on 05.08.2023 by Douglas '74 and Laura Davis

This fund is developed to celebrate the lives of Carl and Ioune Davis from Beach, ND. Through their entrepreneurial success, dedication to family, and their love of the Lord, they were able to provide Doug and his brothers, Duane ('60) and Donald ('66), an education at Concordia.

Doug's life at Concordia started by participating in football and track. An injury required him to change his path which led him to the Communications Department where he studied television production and theatre. Doug also participated in Student Productions and was an active ski club member. These experiences led him to the service industry spending most of his career in customer service with Northwest Airlines.

Laura was raised in Balta, ND. She received a BS degree in education of the deaf and a master’s degree in audiology at Minot State University. Her expertise in audiology and education of the deaf led her to a successful career in assisting the hearing impaired.

Doug and Laura started a side business after being introduced to direct sales. As independent business owners, they experienced the satisfaction of helping people help themselves. That environment of success gave them an appreciation for entrepreneurship and free enterprise.

Their family, just as other families, has experienced the need for healthcare professionals. In today's world, the necessity of skilled care has never been so important. They wish to encourage and say a special thank you to anyone who chooses the healthcare field.

Their journey has taken them from Grand Forks, ND, Great Falls, and Bozeman, MT,  to Green Valley, AZ. They have been blessed beyond measure and wish to pay it forward.

The Douglas ‘74 and Laura Davis Endowed Scholarship is awarded by the Office of Financial Aid to one or more students of any class majoring in one of the Offutt School of Business or Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions programs.
