Friends of Cobber Track & Field,

We are proud of all our athletes and what they have accomplished this past year.

Some highlights:

  • Wade Rhonemus graduated as a four-time NCAA Qualifier, finishing 15th at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Heptathlon, and 15th at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Decathlon. Rhonemus is now the indoor heptathlon school record holder at 4,967 points.
  • Cooper Folkestad is now a six-time MIAC Shot Put Champion (2021, 2022), adding wins at the 2024 MIAC Indoor and Outdoor Championship.
  • Peyton Johnsrud was the surprise high jump victor in the MIAC Indoor Championship.
  • Freshman Eli Hayes won the javelin at the MIAC Outdoor Championship and broke the school record a week later at 194-5, narrowly missing an NCAA berth.

Jake Christiansen Stadium was renovated last summer, including a new eight-lane track and jump areas, along with new turf, lights, and branding updates.  We’re excited to showcase the facility on the weekend of graduation when we host our first outdoor meet in six years!

Each of our team members is reaching out to close family and friends to help our program thrive and stand out among area programs that we recruit heavily against. If everyone contributes a little, it all adds up to make a big difference. Your contribution will go directly to track and field, fostering positive change.

Thank you for all you’ve done to support our teams so far — attending meets, sending casual greetings and notes, or simply following our teams online or on social media! Roll Cobbs!
