"Ghost Signs," a street art project from Concordia English Professor W. Scott Olsen, is currently on display at Fargo City Hall, 225 4th St. N.

The collection includes 14 black-and-white images, all taken in downtown Fargo, of old, painted - and now faded - signs for businesses that for the most part no longer exist. Olsen tells The Forum the photos reveal the interesting history of the city.

The exhibit is part of ArtWORKS, a program of The Arts Partnership that places art in the public realm, such as bank lobbies, educational institutions and corporate offices. The Arts Partnership curates art for the exhibits, which generally include a dozen pieces of art. All of the displayed artwork is available for sale by participating artists, with 100% of the sales amount going directly to the artist. Currently, ArtWORKS is in 22 venues throughout the metro. This is the first year that ArtWORKS has been at the new Fargo City Hall.
