LORENTZSEN CENTER LUNCHEON 

The Lorentzsen Center for Faith and Work, part of the Concordia College Offutt School of Business, will hold an upcoming luncheon “Public Institutional Leadership in Challenging Times.” The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Barry Auditorium, Concordia College. The speaker is Dr. Philip E. Austin.

Austin was the 13th president of the University of Connecticut from 1996-2007. He also held chancellorships in the University of Alabama and the Colorado State University systems, and served as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Baruch College in New York. He’s also held leadership posts in Washington, D.C., and served in the U.S. Army.

 

Austin will share his experiences on the topic of nexus of values, ethics and leadership.The cost for the luncheon is $25 per person. Please RSVP by Friday, Oct. 5, online at ConcordiaCollege.edu/businessevents or by calling (218) 299-3305.

The Lorentzsen Center honors the life and work of Norman M. Lorentzsen. He was an esteemed philanthropist, former CEO of Burlington Northern, alumnus of Concordia and former member and chair of its Board of Regents. The center identifies and sustains ethical values and practices in individuals and organizations. It builds on the tradition and practices of the Center for Ethical Leadership.
