The Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (The CEL) is a dynamic, vibrant, and multifunctional space designed to ignite ideas and inspire leaders. Located in Grant 220 in the Offutt School of Business, the CEL is more than just a place — it’s a community where creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit thrive.

At the CEL, we believe entrepreneurship and leadership are for everyone. Anyone can act entrepreneurially, and all people can lead from any level by stepping up, taking ownership, and using their skills to solve problems and make a difference. That’s why the CEL exists: to provide you with the tools, spaces, and connections you need to grow.

The CEL is intended to be a shared community space for the campus and surrounding community for any type of gathering that will ignite and inspire participants with new ideas. With an aesthetic of professional meets collegiate, the CEL is a creative space where ideas can start, iterate, and grow — no matter your role.

The CEL provides students with a comfortable study space between classes, a meeting hub for student clubs, and a connecting space for entrepreneurial and musical events. As a multifunctional space, the CEL will also host meetings, workshops, and events for the campus and community.

Here’s what you’ll find in the CEL:

  • A vibrant event space with flexible furniture and comfortable booths to gather for meetings, events, workshops, or social gatherings
  • A corner stage with an artistic backdrop, an 85-inch TV, and a sound system designed to highlight featured speakers, musicians, or panel presentations
  • A colorful kitchenette for catering events or for students to store and grab their lunch between classes
  • A retail space where Cobber entrepreneurs can showcase their products and the campus can buy locally made items
  • A team of entrepreneurship staff and faculty co-located in the CEL to support the use of the space, entrepreneurship programming and initiatives, and Cobber entrepreneurs

The Study

Entrepreneurship and leadership require both energy and reflection. The Study is a separate room in Grant 220C that houses an entrepreneurial leadership library curated by Concordia students, alumni, and faculty. The Study is a perfect spot for quiet reading or studying, small group work or presentations, or scheduled mentoring sessions with our Entrepreneur-in-Residence.

Open Hours and Reservations

The CEL is usually open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for walk-in use unless it is reserved for a meeting or an event. Reservations are also available in the evening and on weekends. Please note that The Study in Grant 220C will remain open if the CEL’s main area is occupied. For reservations, email TheCEL@cord.edu.

Jill Carlson, Owner/CEO, Park Co. Realtors

We had our whole company attend the Creating an Entrepreneurial Mindset workshop and the concepts we learned were fantastic! Under Bree’s guidance, we were able to engage in thoughtful conversation and reflection on how our mindset is the foundation of everything we aim to achieve — both personally and professionally.
