Tell us about your journey to Concordia.

I first heard about Concordia from a UWC alumnus who spoke highly of the welcoming community and incredible growth opportunities. After doing my research, I felt it was the perfect fit for my goals and interests: to influence the affairs of the world. The admission process was very personalized; Steve made me feel valued and supported every step of the way, which solidified my decision to become a Cobber.

What are academics/classes at Concordia like?

Academics at Concordia are both challenging and enriching. The professors are incredibly supportive and approachable, making asking questions or seeking advice easy. My business and marketing classes have been a great blend of theory and hands-on projects, while my liberal arts courses have given me the chance to explore diverse topics, like the oneness of God in Islam and sustainability practices.

Have you had any cool opportunities in or out of your classes?

Absolutely! As a marketing intern for the Sustainability Office, I worked on initiatives that promote eco-friendly practices. I also took part in a sustainability trip to Mackinac Island, where we observed sustainable tourism practices. Through the Entrepreneurship Club, I helped plan events like a panel discussion featuring Fargo’s startup leaders. Outside of class, with my entrepreneurship mindset class, I was able to launch a summer camp back home. It was a way to flex my entrepreneurship muscles.

What are you involved in at Concordia?

I’m currently an International Student Ambassador and a marketing intern for the Sustainability Office. I also serve as the vice president of the Entrepreneurship Club and work as a social media coordinator for the International Student Organization (ISO).

Tell me about any cool events you've hosted with ISO or other organizations.

With ISO, we’ve hosted the ISO Festival, which allows students to share their traditions through food, music, and dance. One standout event was our cultural showcase, where I collaborated with an Afro-dance group to perform an energetic piece. It was amazing to see the pride and talent of international students on display.

What has been one of your favorite things about Concordia, either something about the school or a favorite memory?

One of my favorite memories is experiencing Homecoming as an international student. The parade, the spirit, and seeing everyone come together was unforgettable. Another highlight was learning tennis with my friend Sean. It’s moments like these, where I connect with others in simple yet meaningful ways, that make Concordia truly feel like home.
