Dr. Eduard Teregulov

Assistant Professor, Cello and Double Bass; Director, Symphonia Music
Eduard Teregulov joined Concordia College as an assistant professor of cello and double bass at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. He also leads the Symphonia Orchestra and the Concordia Lower String Ensemble.
 
Teregulov is an award-winning soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist. He started his musical journey at the age of five and is known for being a versatile musician with experience performing in various genres and ensembles. He maintains an active career with performances across the United States. In 2022, Eduard Teregulov made his debut in Carnage Hall as a featured cellist with Constantinides New Music Ensemble. He and his wife, pianist Dr. Albina Khaliapova, also regularly present the concert series that celebrates the music by outstanding female composers.
 
Dr. Teregulov is an avid advocate of the music of living and underrepresented composers. Amplifying and creating platforms for artists of today is central to his music career. Within the framework of his project on expanding the cello repertoire of the 21st century, Teregulov commissioned and premiered over twenty works for cello, including a cello concerto, works for solo cello, various chamber groups, as well as electro-acoustic compositions.
 
In his teaching, Dr. Teregulov emphasizes the importance of the physiological approach and the use of the body's natural movements in performance practice. He presents clinics and classes on the fundamentals of cello playing that help young musicians and educators to play and teach more efficiently. Dr. Teregulov widely implements the use of technology and contemporary literature in his teaching methods.
 
Eduard Teregulov earned his D.M.A. in cello performance from Louisiana State University, M.M. from the University of South Florida, and B.M. from Ufa State Academy of Arts. He lives in Fargo, North Dakota, with his wife, Albina, and daughter, Olivia. Eduard's other interests than music include photography, videography, and audio engineering. In his free time, Eduard enjoys long car rides and watching sci-fi/horror movies with his wife.
