Dr. Stephanie Ahlfeldt joined the Concordia faculty in 2004 and currently serves as the associate provost for faculty development and academic advancement.
During her time at the college, she has taught a variety of courses in the communication studies and theatre art (CSTA) department, including interpersonal communication, relational communication in the workplace, interviewing, and computer-mediated communication. She also served as director of the Oral Communication Center and CSTA department chair before joining the dean’s office as associate dean of the college and, most recently, as associate provost of the college.
She has chaired two Faith, Reason, and World Affairs Symposiums — “Speech: Freedom vs. Responsibility?” in 2019 and “Sustainability: Local Action/Global Impact” in 2014.
As associate provost of the college, she worked with institution-wide academic affairs in advising, professional development, and high-impact learning, including undergraduate research, global learning, integrative learning, interfaith engagement, and community engagement.
Her newly created role on the Advancement team, which began in January 2026, involves continuing her work in faculty development with additional responsibilities focused on supporting the upcoming comprehensive campaign and major gift efforts.
