Marv Roeske

Head Coach, Women’s Track and Field Athletics

Marv Roeske has been the head women's track and field coach since Fall 1995. He was also the head women's cross country coach at Concordia from 1999 to 2017.

He led the track program to the MIAC Indoor Championships in 1998, 1999, and 2026, and the MIAC Outdoor Championships in 1999, 2004, and 2026. He was voted the 1998 Central Region Indoor Coach of the Year by the USTCA, the 2004 Central Region Outdoor Coach of the Year by the USTCA, and the USTFCCCA North Region Indoor and Outdoor Coach of the Year in 2026. In addition, he has also been named the MIAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year in 2004, the MIAC Women's Track and Field Coach of the Year in 1998 and 1999, and the MIAC Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year in 2026.

As the coach of the cross country team, he led the 2000 squad to a second place in the MIAC and a fifth place finish at the NCAA Central Region meet, which qualified the team for the NCAA National Meet. It was only the second time in school history that the women's cross country team qualified for the national meet. He was voted the MIAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the 2000 season.

Roeske has also had success at the high school level. He was the head coach at Tolna (N.D.) High School and was an assistant at Jamestown (N.D.) High School. His teams won 23 high school meet team titles and 15 conference titles. During that time, he coached 19 state meet qualifiers, five state meet placers, six regional champions, and two state individual champions — one in the 100-meter hurdles and one in the javelin.

Roeske graduated from Jamestown College in 1985 with majors in history and political science and minors in business administration, secondary education, and a coaching certificate.

Roeske lives in Fargo with his wife Lisa, who is an elementary school curriculum specialist. They have two daughters, Quinn and Leah.
