Two students who study under Dr. Robin Griffeath, associate professor of voice at Concordia, have been named as national semifinalists for the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition.

"I am so excited to be given the opportunity to go compete in Philadelphia and to grow and learn alongside some incredible artists," Schlueter said. "I am very grateful for the support and encouragement given to me by Dr. Griffeath. This past semester has been a lot of hard work but has led me to opportunities like this one. I can't wait to represent Concordia at the National NATS student auditions!"
Eleanor Iversen is a junior at Fargo North and was selected as a semifinalist in the musical theatre category.
The two were selected from a preliminary round of nearly 1,200 student-singers who include students from 14 American and Canadian regions, as well as the international region that spans eight chapters across four continents.
To get to that point, Schlueter and Iversen had to beat out thousands of competitors in the North Central regional competition from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
The semifinals and finals will take place at Temple University in Philadelphia in late June.
