Concordia College will once again welcome students, educators, and music enthusiasts for its 34th annual Percussion Day on Saturday, April 11. The event is a full day of rhythm-focused learning and performance.
Percussion Day is open to participants of all ages and skill levels and features hands-on workshops, masterclasses, and performances led by Concordia faculty and guest artists. Attendees will explore a wide range of styles and techniques, from classical and jazz to global percussion traditions.
There are several featured artists, including:
- Sasha Berliner, a San Francisco-based vibraphonist, composer, and bandleader known for blending jazz with contemporary and experimental styles
- Iván Manzanilla, an internationally recognized performer specializing in contemporary percussion music
- Mark DeMull, assistant professor at North Dakota State University and an active orchestral and chamber musician across the Upper Midwest
- Kenyon Williams, a nationally active performer and educator who serves as principal percussionist with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra and directs percussion studies at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Percussion Day is led by Dr. Roberto Palomeque, assistant professor of percussion at Concordia, who directs percussion studies, the percussion ensemble, and marimba choir.
