Jazz artists Justin Binek, Rosana Eckert performing at Concordia College 

Internationally recognized jazz singer and pianist Justin Binek and renowned vocalist and songwriter Rosana Eckert will unite for an evening of world-class jazz at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, in Concordia College’s Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music.

With an international reputation in several facets of the music industry, Eckert wears many hats as a versatile live and studio vocalist, a dynamic improviser, a creative songwriter and arranger, and a masterful educator of jazz and voice. 

Binek is a jazz and classical singer, pianist, and clinician/adjudicator. Selected as a quarterfinalist for the 2022 Grammy Music Educator Award, he is also an acclaimed arranger and composer.

Tickets are $22 for adult general admission, $20 for senior general admission, and $10 for student general admission. Tickets are available at ConcordiaTickets.com or at the door before the performance. There will be a reception in the lobby following the recital.

Concordia faculty and staff and their families, as well as Cobber students, are admitted free with ID at the door.

Vocal Jazz Festival

The event is sponsored by the Concordia Cultural Events Series and the annual Concordia Vocal Jazz Festival.

The festival brings high schoolers from across the region to campus on Feb. 10. They will perform and receive an on-stage clinic with Binek and Eckert. Each of Concordia’s three ensembles will perform as well.
