Past to Future: Concordia Announces Two New Alumni Grant Programs for Incoming Students

Concordia is offering two new programs, the Alumni Referral Grant and the Alumni Legacy Grant, that allow graduates to directly impact incoming students by simply sharing their experience as a Cobber.

The Alumni Referral Grant invites alumni to suggest high school or transfer students who could benefit from attending Concordia. The Office of Admission will then notify the student they have been referred by a graduate and are eligible to receive $500 annually, up to four years, for a total of $2,000 if they enroll.

Referred students will be able to attend a special event, which includes a campus tour and opportunities to meet with faculty from their academic programs of interest, coaches, and directors of music and fine arts programs. Students will also be provided a special visit T-shirt and a meal at the Anderson Commons dining center. This year’s event is Nov. 11.

The deadline to refer high school seniors is Dec. 1 for fall enrollment or June 1 for spring enrollment. Transfer students must be referred by Jan. 15 for fall enrollment or June 15 for spring enrollment.

The Alumni Legacy Grant is available to students whose siblings are current Concordia students or graduates, or whose parents or grandparents are Concordia alumni. Students who officially notify the college of their alumni legacy status or sibling enrollment will receive $500 annually, up to $2,000. The Legacy Grant will be awarded to newly entering students for Fall 2023 and after. The interested students will also be invited to the special event Nov. 11.

Incoming students are only eligible for one of the two new grants.

Forms and more information can found be online at Alumni Referral Grant and Concordia Alumni Legacy Grant, along with details on the many scholarships available at Concordia.
