CONCORDIA TO HOST DEFENDER OF FREE SPEECH

“Free Speech, Censorship, and Controversy”

Moorhead, Minn.--The Lorentzsen Center for Faith and Work at Concordia College continues its exploration of the question “How do we build a more trustworthy world?” in February’s: “Free Speech, Censorship, and Controversy: A Conversation with Nadine Strossen” from noon-1 p.m. CST Wednesday, Feb. 15. The event is a hybrid in-person (limited seating) and virtual conversation in Barry Auditorium in the Grant Center.

Strossen is one of America's most articulate and forceful defenders of free speech. Her voice has become increasingly important as the topic finds itself at the center of social, legal, and cultural conversations. This event is co-sponsored by the Lorentzsen Center and Concordia's Pre-Law Group. It will be a moderated conversation covering everything from recent Supreme Court cases and social controversies to themes from Strossen's landmark 2018 book, "HATE: Why We Should Resist It with Free Speech, Not Censorship." The conversation promises to be energetic, insightful, and thought-provoking.

The event is free. Guests are invited to bring your own lunch to the in-person event. Please register at LorentzsenCenter.com. Call 218.299.3305 for more information. A link will be sent after registration for those choosing the virtual option.
