FUGLESTAD LECTURE AT CONCORDIA ON
COMBATING THE EXTINCTION CRISIS

The Concordia College biology department presents the 34th Annual Professor R. E. Fuglestad Memorial Lecture, “Combating the Extinction Crisis,” at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in the Centrum, Knutson Campus Center. The lecture will feature Collette Adkins J.D., a senior attorney for the Center for Biological Diversity.

A 1996 graduate of Concordia with degrees in biology and environmental studies, Adkins works in the Endangered Species Program of the Center for Biological Diversity where she focuses on combating exploitation and cruel treatment of rare wildlife. She received her law degree from the University of Minnesota, where she also earned a master's degree in Wildlife Conservation. Before joining the Center, Adkins was in private practice, where her pro bono work focused on preservation of endangered species and their habitats. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable John R. Tunheim in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Center for Biological Diversity works to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction through science, law, and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters and climate that species need to survive.

The Fuglestad Lectureship was established in 1982 in memory of R.E. “Ed” Fuglestad, who served the Concordia College biology department for 43 years.
