LORENTZSEN CENTER VIRTUAL CONVERSATION

The Lorentzsen Center for Faith and Work, part of the Concordia College Offutt School of Business, will present an April Virtual Conversation, “Human Work and Life Worthy of Our Humanity: A Conversation with Miroslav Volf,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 22. The virtual conversation is one of the 2020-21 online panel conversations exploring “good work and its future.” Programs are open to the public and free of charge.

Volf is founder and director of Yale Center for Faith & Culture, and Henry B. Wright Professor of Theology at Yale University Divinity School.

While some Americans thrive, employment has become more precarious and stressful than it should be for others. Volf, the foremost Christian thinker today on work and life worth living, discusses what Christian faith envisions for human work. How is God present and active in work? How should Christians understand contemporary employment conditions and purposes of work? What needs improving? What should be valued and affirmed? How can Christians cultivate lives of love, peace and joy through work?

The webinar is free. Please register at ConcordiaCollege.edu/businessevents. Call (218) 299-3305 for more information.

The Lorentzsen Center honors the life and work of Norman M. Lorentzsen. He was an esteemed philanthropist, former CEO of Burlington Northern, alumnus of Concordia and former member and chair of its Board of Regents. The center identifies and sustains ethical values and practices in individuals and organizations.
