CONCORDIA INVITES COMMUNITY TO OCTOBER CONVERSATION

Becoming Hotspots of Belonging in an Age of Loneliness

The Lorentzsen Center for Faith and Work continues its exploration of the question “How do we build a more trustworthy world?” in the October Conversation: “Becoming Hotspots of Belonging in an Age of Loneliness” featuring Cat Moore, from noon-1 p.m. CDT Thursday, Oct. 20. The event is a hybrid in-person and virtual conversation in Barry Auditorium in the Grant Center. You’re invited to bring your own lunch to the in-person event.

Belonging is the deepest human need, first human right, and greatest predictor of health and happiness across the lifespan, yet Loneliness is at a historic high. Moore will discuss how we can find our way home to each other, ourselves, and our common purposes in this new social landscape.

Moore sparks micro-movements of belonging that disrupt loneliness. She is an award-winning innovator, speaker, writer and the director of Belonging at the University of Southern California, the first position of its kind in the history of American higher education. She is the designer of the CLICK! friendship course, which is available to U.S. campuses, and has advised leaders from Microsoft, City Year, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, and more on how to create cultures of belonging among a hybrid, global workforce.

The event is free. Please register at ConcordiaCollege.edu/lorentzsen. Call 218.299.3305 for more information. A link will be sent after registration for those choosing the virtual option.
