OEN FELLOWSHIP LECTURE AT CONCORDIA
Dr. Anantanand Rambachan and Dr. Kathleen Cahalan will be deliver the 11th Oen Fellowship Lecture, “Interfaith Perspectives on Vocation,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, in Barry Auditorium, Grant Center, at Concordia College.
The lecture draws on their contributions to the book “Calling in Today's World: Voices from Eight Faith Traditions,” eds. Kathleen Cahalan and Douglas Schuurman (Eerdmans, 2016).
Rambachan has been involved in the field of interreligious relations and dialogue for more than 25 years, as a Hindu participant and analyst. He is professor of religion, philosophy and Asian studies at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn. Rambachan received his doctorate and M.A. (Distinction) degrees from the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, University of Leeds, in the United Kingdom. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad.
Cahalan is professor of practical theology at Saint John’s University School of Theology and Seminary and director of the Collegeville Institute Seminars on Vocation, Collegeville, Minn. She is the author of several publications and the Seminars have produced small group resources and “Lives Explored,” a video narrative project on vocation.
The lecture is supported by the Oen Fellowship Scholar Fund established by Ordean ’49 and Carol Oen. The fellowship provides the college and its community an opportunity to hear an interdisciplinary lecture.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
