SYMPOSIUM TO EXPLORE MAKING A LIVING AND MAKING A LIFE

Community Learning Event

Join the Concordia community as we discuss “Work in the Job Revolution: Making a Living and Making a Life” at this year’s Faith, Reason, and World Affairs Symposium Tuesday, Sept. 21-Wednesday, Sept. 22. Most events are held in Memorial Auditorium on the Moorhead, Minn., campus.

The symposium will examine how employers are looking for resilient and resourceful skills, qualities, and mindsets that go beyond technical competence and display ability to work with others, negotiate multiple cultures, tackle complex problems, and educational outcomes that are also key to living a meaningful life beyond employment.

Speakers include Gary Bolles, author, and chair for the Future of Work at Singularity University; Brandon Busteed, president, University Partners and Global Head, Learn-Work Inovation at Kaplan; Kweilin Ellingrud, senior partner at McKinsey & Company; and Dr. Frank Magwegwe, entrepreneur and founder of Frankly Speaking and Thrive Financial Wellness; and Dr. Jason Mahn, religion professor and director of the Presidential Center for Faith and Learning, Augustana College.

All sessions for the symposium are free and open to the public. For a complete schedule visit ConcordiaCollege.edu/Symposium.

Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering more than 50 majors, including 17 honors majors and 13 preprofessional programs.
