Speech and Debate Scholarship Application
Deadline: Feb. 1, 2026
Eligibility
To be eligible for a speech and debate scholarship, you must be an incoming first-year or transfer student who has been accepted to Concordia College and exhibited proficiency in speech. Prior speech and debate competition experience is not required.
The initial screening will be based on a scholarship application. If selected as a finalist, students will:
- Submit a brief (3-5 minute) recording of a performance, which can be wholly original or the reuse of something prepared for another purpose (e.g., high school speech competition, class, etc.).
- Meet on campus with the director and assistant director of speech and debate for a short interview. Virtual interview options will be available to reduce potential travel and financial burdens.
