Concordia College’s rigorous undergraduate program in orchestral conducting is unique across the country. Admission is highly competitive. Students accepted into the program will be able to earn a certificate in instrumental conducting in addition to their degree in music (performance, composition, or music education). This thorough program is designed for highly talented students hoping to pursue a professional and/or academic career in conducting. Students are expected to be self-motivated, diligent, and hard-working, and remain in excellent academic standing. They will have the opportunity to conduct full-size orchestras, chamber orchestras, and operas, and frequently work with guest conductors in masterclasses and lessons.
